EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;\">Wendie started phasing in as the new caller for our<br \/>club in the spring \u00a0of 2022 when we were finally able to safely dance<br \/>again after our CoVid shutdown as Deb and Ray Schmidt were starting to plan<br \/>their move to Castlegar. \u00a0She had shared teaching duties with our previous<br \/>teacher, Ray Schmidt, for several years. Wendie first became interested in<br \/>calling while helping teach beginner&#8217;s classes for the Travelling Squares club.<br \/>She has attended caller schools in Victoria and at Circle Eight Ranch in<br \/>Washington . In addition to teaching square dancing she also shared calling<br \/>duties for the Sand Dollars Club in Parksville. She is a cuer for the Island<br \/>Gems Round Dance club and has also choreographed and published several round<br \/>dances. As well as\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var(--ast-global-color-3);\">squares and rounds she has been a line dance teacher<br \/>for the Harbour City Seniors for many years. Wendie and her husband Herb first started dancing in the early 80&#8217;s. They had a long break while raising their family. After Wendie retired in 2004 they came back to dancing and have been very involved in the local square dance community ever since.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our
